Had spinach enchiladas and they used fresh spinach which I appreciated very much. I've been to other places where they use frozen and it's not so good. Beans and rice were pretty basic. But nice staff and atmosphere.

Great prices and nice servers, but low quality ingredients and food and the place is filthy.

One of my new favorites!! Amazing New Mexican food, especially breakfast. If you love The Pantry or The Flying Tortilla, you will love this place. Great food, incredibly affordable prices, wonderful service and plenty of parking. Fantastic Red & Green Chile!!! If I were going to be executed, their Smothered Christmas Bacon Breakfast Burrito would be part of my last meal. A little morbid? Maybe. Totally true? Oh yeah.

We stopped by this diner for breakfast before a stop to the MDV. I went due to the high reviews on Yelp. It's surprisingly large inside and they have great service. However, I did not enjoy my omelette dish. It was really oily and tasteless. It came with toast and hash browns and they were also tasteless. I was sad about the food because I really love diners. However, my fiance got the french toast special and he liked it. The prices are cheap and we were in/out in 30 minutes. I might give it another shot because the employees were really friendly but maybe I'll go for lunch next time.

Great food priced right. The red Chile is proper and the service is always fast. Don't let the looks of the former Grunion fool you, this place is a breakfast gem.

This place is seriously legit, but unfortunately they do not offer a vegetarian chile option. So many sad faces. The son had the breakfast quesadilla and I had the chile relleno omelette. That's right, folks, a CHILE RELLENO OMELETTE. Of course it's potential awesomeness was ruined by the fact that I could not enjoy it smothered in red or green chile, but I ordered it with their house salsa on the side, which turned out to be delicious. Prices are really affordable, considering we are in Fanta Se, and everyone who worked there was ESL, which is always a big ++++++ in my book.

The food is amazing. The red chili is awesome with a good kick spice wise. The green chili is amazing as well. Just the right amount of heat to enjoy the meal! Great service that is fast and friendly!!! Don't let the building throw you.

Food had a good flavor pallet. Service was good. Servers were friendly and attentive. Building and inside looked a little sketchy, but worth the risk. Friendly atmosphere. (Chips and salsa not worth it....they charged 3 bucks and didn't bring them out until 45 seconds before our main meal was served, and the place was quite dirty, hence the deduction of stars). Overall a good place to eat. :)

Formally the Green Onion bar, this place from outside and somewhat inside looks like a dive. Don't let that fool you, the food is very good as is the service. Ate two breakfast's there and they were excellent! Also had the New Mexico combo which was very good, especially the tamale and red chili. Don't know exactly why but the menu and food (especially the breakfast's I had) reminded me of the food at Los Amigos on the other side of town which I also like very much. Former cooks or employees? There's a really good omelette at both that combine ham, scallions and sour cream with chili making me wonder if there's some commonality.

Best breakfast *AND* lunch place in town. My girlfriend and I have been going a few times a week over the last month, since we discovered it. They have amazing New Mexican dishes as well as American fare. We have yet to find Sunrise's equal, and strongly suggest the restaurant to all.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
